Mia Nguyen, a visual artist and illustrator whose work explores childhood nostalgia, identity, and emotional connection through vibrant, narrative-driven paintings, was selected as the April recipient of the Extra Squeeze Grant.
Created through a partnership between CLT F.I.V.E., Charlotte Is Creative, Springclean, and Bogues Group, the Extra Squeeze Grant supports emerging creatives making an impact in the community by providing funding, a custom-designed media kit, press support, and a featured spotlight on the CharlotteFive Instagram.
Recipients also gain access to Springclean's boutique retail and gallery space at Camp North End, where Mia hosted a pop-up activation to sell her artwork and operate a live drawing booth, creating opportunities for direct engagement with the community while expanding visibility for her growing practice.
